Focus on Veterans Disabilityy Claims Appeals
| We
offer representation for veterans facing denial of benefits for service
related disabilities - including those resulting from exposure to toxic
and carcinogenic substances. |
| The U.S. Court of
Appeals for Veteran's Claims is located in Washington
D.C. My office represents residents of Pennsylvania in their
appeals from denials of their service related
claims.
Veterans and others
entitled to Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits have the right to appeal
denial of requested benefits. Types of claims frequently at
issue include:
- Pension
- Disability Compensation
- Education Benefits
- Unreimbursed/unapproved
medical
- Overpayments
There are several
available levels of appeal and there are important
time limits applicable to each level. It is advisable for
claimants to consult with an experienced advocate or attorney when
proceeding.
The U.S. Court of
Appeals for Veteran's Claims is the first available level of appeal
to an entity which is not a part of the Department of Veterans
Affairs. Instead, the Court is independent. Appeals to
the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veteran's Claims must be taken within
120 days of the date stamped on the prior decision (from the Board
of Veterans Appeals).
Appeals from a
decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims are made
to a Federal Appellate Court.
There are relatively
few attorneys who are members of the specialized bar of the U.S.
Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. Our office is proud to
represent veterans from Pennsylvania in these matters.
More information on
the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims may be found on the
court's website ,which also posts
written opinions of the court.
